Teens too obsessed?

Are teens too obsessed with Hollister and Abercrombie these days?

I mean, since everyone is wearing them, teens spend hundreds of dollars just to "fit in". Don't get me wrong, Hollister and Abercrombie can have some REALLY cute stuff that I like to buy but sometimes, I think that even if you take the ugliest shirt and put "Hollister" or "Abercrombie" on it, someone will buy it for about $100.

Sometimes I find it ridiculous. I mean, I don't usually shop there (sometimes if I find something cute) and I have some of the best clothes in the school and people actually look up to my style.

What do you guys think about this question? Let me know.

Teens too obsessed?
i agree with you. there are girls in my town who cant leave the house unless their shirt says hollister or ambercrombie on it, and it drives me nuts because why spend all that money on looking the same everyday?

i never wore those clothes....never. yet i always got compliments on my outfits which were from stores like H%26amp;M mixed with hot topic and kohls. you never saw anyone asking these girls for fashion advice or where they got their clothes, because it was always so blatently obvious, and because nine out of ten girls looked like them already.

idk. there isnt much imagination in ambercrombie or hollisters clothes. why they have suddenly become THE thing to wear kills me. because then i come on here and someone asks "what is your favorite designer?" and nine answers of ten are ambercrombie or hollister! those are not designers! betsy johnson is designer! ivani helsinki is designer! vera wang, coach, prada, THOSE are designers!

and to the guy above me who yelled at the asker of this question saying people only wear the clothes to fit in, shut up. because 90% of the people who wear those clothes wear them to fit in. its so obvious, it blows my mind
Reply:i don't really understand what you are asking. abercrombie and hollister is a trend. just like "scene" is. people get over it and change trends. i'm glad you have the *~coolest*~ fashion and the best clothes.
Reply:i agree. u should make ur own style. and if that involves a few pieces from those stores, then so be it... but an entire wardrobe from there is dumb. shop for ur style, not everyone elses.
Reply:i honestly agree with you, hollister and abercrombie is one of those '' im so girly! oou! look at me, i got this new shirt for 60$! it was on sale! ''. that style isnt me, im more of the ' scene ' as people call it. i have a sweater from there, but it was 15$ thats pretty cheap and its fluffy. im from canada and we dont have it here, thank god. id see every girl with a hollister/a.f shirt! its rediculous. get your own style, all the stuff there is the exact same.
Reply:i do agree with that. i think that it takes basically no fashion sense to just be like a walking billboard and wear just the logo tees and stuff... although i do shop there sometimes, make whole wardrobe does not consist of it
Reply:YES! I think namebrands are just an excuse not to have style. It's fine to buy things from those stores, but plastering yourself like a billboard looks ridiculous. I'd rather see someone in a really cute outfit they found thrifting and at dicount stores then in something very unoriginal that everybody else in their school has. Looking chic is looking cool. Looking like a copycat isn't.
Reply:they might get it for a good price. i like it a lot too but it is expensive when you cant get any discount
Reply:I think that since you sometimes shop there yourself, you can't really assume that everyone else that shops there sometimes is just doing it to "fit in."

(And by the way, don't be proud of yourself for asking this question unless you're hoping to get a prize for the millionth to ask it.)
Reply:im not a guy but i agree with u.....i buy clothes because they are cute not because it has the brand name written accross it. its just free advertising
Reply:are you saying people only wear those items to "fit in"??? ...lord get a life and stop being stuck in your grade school days %26amp; clicks. or better yet, how about you get a job so you can afford something. and rarely do shirts in abercrombie go for 100bucks, the jeans yes, but the tops no.
Reply:yeah i think some of those are stupid like the ones that just say Hollister across the shirt i think is a waste of money. everyone all looks the same. there is no originality. how you dress should be a way to express ones individuality and alot of teens look the samee.
Reply:well where i live people are not obsessed with it since we dont have either one in our city and the closest ones are 4 hours away and you have to go cross over the boarder to the states

yes it is expensive i order all of my stuff online and the shipping costs just as much as the clothes do

but i like it and not that many people in my school have it but people love it so they look up to me for wearing it.
Reply:Yes. Why do they think like this? I totally agree with you!
Reply:i agree, i actually dont own anything from there, but i see other people wearing certain things and i dont mind it, but some of the stuff is just so ugly, and pointless, if your going to spend that kind of me, get some really unique items, people always ask me where i shop, and i honestly cant answer them, i just give them the rundown for the outfit im wearing, but i own no more than 3 items from the same store. well, maybe winners, but they have all different brands, and i get all my plains at the same place so, but the REAL pieces, not just the extra. and there jeans are just hideous. hollister has bad washes, and abercrmobie has weird fits.
