As a teen, or as a parent of teens, do you really think Juno is all that controversial?

I mean I know in a lot of ways Juno isn't realistic, but in some ways I wish it was.... Juno is a lot more confident than most teens her age, and although her parents were initially clueless, they were supportive of her through a hard time (also better then most parents of teenagers lol). One of the papers in my city wrote an article on how it wasn't realistic and people responded saying Juno is a brat and they are glad it was unrealistic because they would hate having a teen daughter like that.

As a teen, or as a parent of teens, do you really think Juno is all that controversial?
Awww I loved Juno.. I thought it was an amazing movie.

First of all, it shows how there are creeps in this world (the husband of the adoptive mother).

It also shows how teenagers all make mistakes, and there are options.

It aallssoo shows a wonderful story about love that gives the hopeless lonely teens out there hope that they can find love too. =)

It may not be the most realistic movie in the world, but it sure as hell is a lot more realistic than those "chronicles of blah blah" movies.. come on now.

Besides, she is awesome. I have a couple friends with her wit and I absolutely LOVE them! So humorous. =)

But no, I don't find it controversial at all. It's just a movie, and a very funny one at that. It's meant for entertainment, not reality. People need to get that back into their heads... movies=entertainment!

It's like saying the Jeepers Creepers guy or the Scream guy is going to come kill everyone. Hello.. entertainmenttt...
Reply:I thought it was a good movie.
Reply:I have not seen the movie as of yet, but i believe its good that they made a movie like this. I was pregnant at 16 and kept my baby and have struggled, but i have become a nurse. I dont see how it is unrealistic. Teens are getting pregnant everyday and the reality is a lot of them are being kicked out of their homes onto the streets and everyone just ignores teen pregnancy like it doesnt happen. And it seems that teen mothers are labeled as bad mothers or living off welfare and that irritates me because its not true.
Reply:no
Reply:it was an awesome movie and definitely not controversial. homeskillet.
Reply:i'm eleven, I saw it with my mom, no biggy. It was a good movie though...
Reply:juno is that controversial. if anything it's controversial in a good way
Reply:I loved that movie. Juno is unique and intelligent. Of course the movie was a bit unrealistic--- it's a movie! Who cares.
Reply:i thought it was a good movie and i think that more teens should think about adoption like she did instead of an abortion.
Reply:No i don't, i think that we need more movies like this
Reply:I thought it was an amazing movie, moving and funny and I don't see how it wasn't realistic. All teen rpegnancies could be handled the way Juno handled it if people stay calm and look at their options. Everyone freaks out about pregnancies when there is always the option of adoption
Reply:I think that the message of adoption is a good one, and I don't think it glorifies teen sex, but neither does it chastize it.

However, I think that it's really an adult movie, not a teen movie. Teens who aren't really mature enough to understand it might take *spoiler* the love story as a sign that if you give your virginity away underage, you'll find true love, which is very very VERY rare.

And for the record, I was very similar to that when I was that age (not getting pregnant or having sex because I was bored, but the way she speaks was remarkably similar).
Reply:I have never seen that movie, I wanted to, but I think that poeople are just backlashing at the idea of a pregnant teenager being advertised on screen for other teens to watch. I mean, for one from the trailers and clips she did seem confidant and what is wrong witha confidant teenager for once, for second so she seemed a bit sarcastic, who isn't, I know I am and it's a part of me that makes me me humour wise. Also, she decides to give her baby up for adoption, or so I've heard, what is wrong with advertising a third option besides abortion and birth to raise the baby on thier own.
Reply:I'm 16 years old and pregnant. Annnd I'm keeping it. I saw Juno, I thought it was pretty good. Very funny and entertaining. It wasn't that realistic though because every single other teen mom that I know, haven't givin up/won't give up their babies. They all have jobs. Cars. Money. Shelter. So what? That's all you need.

All you'd need to focus on is graduating and baby of course :)
Reply:Yeah, if that happened to me my parents would kill me.
