Any other TEENS agree with me that teens are too young for sex? Hmm?

I'm 14. I think it's disgusting and so dumb that teens have sex. I think teens r too young for that. Anyone agree?

Any other TEENS agree with me that teens are too young for sex? Hmm?
Why do young teens have sex? While a recent study suggested sexy media images might be to blame, a new study shows kids might also be motivated by relationship goals like intimacy and social status.

Teens want their relationships to bring them intimacy, social status, and sexual pleasure -- and they have a strong expectation these goals will be fulfilled if they have sex, according to a report in the June 2006 issue of Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health.

The report says these perceived benefits should be considered along with the risks (sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancypregnancy) when developing programs aimed at preventing early teen sex.

Mary Ott, MD, from Indiana University, along with colleagues from the University of California, San Francisco, sought to find out why young teens want -- or would want -- to have sex (defined in this study as male-female intercourse). They surveyed 637 ninth-graders in two socioeconomically and ethnically diverse Northern California schools.

Gender Differences

About 57% of the kids were girls, 43% boys, and most were 14 years old.

The researchers found the boys and girls valued relationship goals differently:

Girls considered intimacy significantly more important than boys did.

Boys reported higher expectations that sex would lead to pleasure and social status.

Of the teens who answered a question about sexual experience, 13% said they had had sex. The experienced teens considered intimacy and sexual pleasure significantly more important as a relationship goal than the inexperienced teens did.

As for social status, sexually experienced girls saw less value in that than inexperienced girls did. There was no difference of opinion about social status between experienced and inexperienced boys.

The researchers say this supports the double standard that sex improves the social status of boys but jeopardizes it for girls.

Generally, teens expected sex to help them reach goals of intimacy, pleasure, and social status. However, girls and sexually inexperienced teens had lower expectations.

Prevention Tactics

The researchers say programs to dissuade early teen sex usually focus on the negative -- the risks of STDs and pregnancy.

Teens might heed the message better, they say, if the positive expectations -- "developing a sense of intimacy, achieving social skills and goals, and experiencing sexual pleasure" -- are recognized and alternative ways to achieve those goals suggested.
Reply:No. Not at all. In fact, it's in our design as humans to have sex when we're teenagers.
Reply:Not at all. If it feels good, so it. But be extremely careful regarding what you do and who with. The consequences can be catastrophic. We're each ready for different things at different ages. What bugs me the most is adults who can have sex whenever they want with whoever they want, but don't enjoy it as much any more, telling teenagers, at the height of their sexuality, that they can't.
Reply:Ah, you are fourteen. You'll learn.

But first learn English. Your spelling is atrocious.

Teens are incapable of completely understanding the full effects sex with have on them mentally and physically, but biologically as stated below me it is only natural for the urge to have sex to happen once puberty sets in.
Reply:I totally agree...although I must admit that there are times that I am curious and almost want to negotiate my own views, yes I DO AGREE!!! I am 14 as well btw.
Reply:I think it has more to do with responsibility and maturity. If a teenager feels that he/she is ready and is responsible enough to engage in sexual activities, then by gosh, do so. It is very important to know what you're going into. ;)
Reply:i think so 2 but some teens are just 2 h0rny so they can't wait lol
Reply:I started having same sex relationships at 11. Pretty young. Many times I wish I had waited until I was older. I'm 35 now and I'm bored with a lot of sexual stuff. I feel I lost a lot of my childhood. I really encourage all of you youngsters to wait.
Reply:i think its too young also. i mean, you dont fall in love that early...
Reply:I agree. They're not ready for the consequences.
Reply:It depends on what you mean by teen. Yes I would say 14 is too young. They are not ready for the complications that come with sex. They should just enjoy being young. But around 18 or 19 isn't bad. I think people mature around that age.
Reply:No. The biological age of puberty is around 12. In a purely natural sense, humans have evolved to have sex at 12+ years old.

That being said, I think you should at least be 14-15 before you have full sex.
Reply:Nope. Teens arent too young if they know whats happening and what they are doing. I started having sex at 16. Its not the age tho. Its your maturity towards it. People can do what they want, when they want, as long as they are comfortable, at any age.
Reply:I lost my virginity at 16 (considered old now), and wish I'd waited.

I can only imagine what 13 and 14 year olds will be feeling when they truly fall in love.

Yes, I do believe it is too young, but times they are achanging.

Experiment with teens.....?

I want to do an experiment with the teens around me but I'm not sure if it's actually something that would be for the benift of the teens doing it. I wanted to see if a group of teens could last one week with a baby doll that acts like a baby. If not, then they should have to write a paper on why not. If so, they still have to write the paper but on the challenges and it will probably help them to think before having unprotected sex. Is this do-able?

Experiment with teens.....?
I think it is totally do-able because a lot of teens have unprotected sex and its not good... I haven't had sex and I'm not going to untill I get married but I would be willing to do the experiment with my best guy friend because we both like each other and I think that we should do it in case we ever do think about having unprotected sex soon and in the near future... we have Health class together too so it would make a big difference to do it in health class as partners... I would say just go ahead and talk to your health teacher and ask if she can do it.

Good Luck..
Reply:I don't know my sisters are both 17 and (1 is my sil) my real sister still has sex, sees what I go through everyday with my son and even helped raised my nephew by herself, while my older sister worked. Im 19 and married and dont have alot of help from my husband. My sil is kinda like her brother she doesn't want to have to help alot because he distracts her from tv
Reply:yeah i did it in my child development class in school, most high school's do stuff like this where you either have to carry and egg around and baby it or you have to carry around a doll that cries and stuff. i think its a good idea personally, it made the girls in my class reconsider wanting to have babies when weeks before we did this thats all they could talk about.
Reply:i dont know but it is a great idea! i also think that if girls could experience the feeling of labo before they have sex, they would feel they would not have it
Reply:I think this has been done before. In our high school they had teens take a fake baby that cried, etc for a weekend. I have also seen them take care of a sack of flour. I think it would be a great idea to have a teen thinking about sex to spend 24 hours with someone with a newborn about 2 months old. I would welcome someone into my house to see how hard it is to wake up 3 or 4 times a night, feel bad about a long shower, have babyspit on clothes all day and deal with someone else's poop. This all sounds horrible, and I love being a mom so I could't imagine being a teen not planning on a baby yet and having one. It would have had me think twice about sex for a while.
Reply:personally, i would love to do something like this. i think our school does something like this, im not sure. i do know that a nearby girls school has so many sixth formers with children they had to start up like a small nursery and now its full cos all the younger kids with children have put their kids in too. i personally, would love to look after one of those dolls, but would feel stupid in front of my friends. i also think a real baby would be a lot better because you would have to be a lot more delicate and stuff with it. and its less straightforward.
Reply:Actually in my school for health class we have to take care of a baby doll for several weeks I believe that actually cries and stuff or we have to write a double spaced 5 page essay on teen pregnancy so it's a challenging project
Reply:Yes, this is so do-able. I really would like to do that myself but i have to get it approved first. So far, they are going to do it at my high school but they dont know if they should cause they think itll only make us want to have more unprotected sex.
Reply:it would be more do-able if it were a class project. i don't know how many teens who would actually volunteer for this. maybe talk to one of your teachers (health, sex ed., life management) and see if she would be willing to help you with it. good luck, it's a great idea!!!
Reply:welp im in a class like that its called child development and we have to carry a baby around for 2 days.

Teens Bake Puppy in Oven. What do you think of this story???
It's really sad that people don't teach their children about how to treat and respect animals as well as people. There will always be idiots in the world, so sadly, there probably isn't much we could do to stop this from happening again. More education would be great, but you always have sick-o's that do it for meanness.

On a more serious and realistic note, if they are not locked away for the rest of their lives, they will graduate to humans. These are very sick individuals. I think a crime against animals that is this heinous should be a life sentence or death penalty. There is no rehabilitation for people like this.
Reply:aww, that is just terrible, it makes me sick to hear of any one abusing animals. I think they shouldnt be ever allowed to ever have any animals of their own. That was just plain sad! They should be put in the oven for awhile just so they will know what that poor puppy went through.

Please see my other "teens only'" questions too. Feel free to star any of the questions you like. I am trying to understand what teens are all about in today's imperfect world. Thanx.

Teens only....What or who is the most powerful and positive force in your life?
there r several people who i find powerful and positive forces in my life. the biggest would have to be my family. esp. my parents. they are always there for me and supporting me. they push me to be the best person i can be. my parents dont want me to miss out on any opportunities in my life. they've made me into who i am today. my bro is also important to me. of course, we argue and fight occasionaly, but, i know he'll be there for me when i'm in trouble. he listens to me and tries to help me whenever he can. he's a good bro. every day, i thank God for giving me the family i have.

Can children/ teens really choose to be anarchists?

I'm 15 years old, and I'm very much tired of those other teens who say that they dont believe in the government or authority, but ironicly go to school, use facilities, and take part in events sponsored by the city and its government bodies. So i wanted to know, can children and teens really become anarchists? And i'm not even sure if thats the correct term: "anarchists". But I highly doubt that all if not virtually all know the whole principle of anarchy more than they do the fad of their friends in believing a certain way to fit in.

So the basis of the question is : Can teens really be anarchists though most dont understand the principle? Where can they get the ideas of anarchy? Am i being closed minded to ideas that dont seem morally right? Can someone define the general idea of anarchy (because when i ask them what anarchy means, they just say that they dont like government or authority in general)?

Can children/ teens really choose to be anarchists?
Rebellious is a better word, but your friends want a term which is broader and more high minded. You've described behavior that's more representative of an adolescent stage than a political philosophy.

Edited

Both you and your friends are showing signs that you're thinking critically, evaluating what you've been told, and that's good. If I were you I'd leave them to their definition, and if you stay friends you call laugh about how they were all "anarchists" at 15, and you were righteous or whatever they've labeled you.
Reply:Their behavior sounds normal for teenagers.

You worry too much.
Reply:Unless they are for absolutely no government, killings without punishment, looting, absolute chaos, unjustice, wars sprouting out everywhere, I don't think they truly understand what supporting anarchy is all about - but then again, everyone can 'decide' to be what they want to be. They just don't realize they're under false titles.
Reply:Im 18, and I feel the same way. Im a very liberal person politically, but im also sick to hell of teenagers who think they know what theyre talking about and mindlessly bash mainstream politics, leaders, media, etc. Nothings perfect, but saying "lets rebel" is just immature.

What do teens in india wear?

What do teens in india wear?

i would like to know what brand names teens in india wear (in terms of western clothing, not indian clothes). like how here teens wear hollister and abercrombie, what's "in" in India? what stores do they have and where do they shop? i need to get something cute for my cousin (she's 13) but i'm not sure what she would want, after all she lives halfway across the world. thanks

What do teens in india wear?
well, i have cousins in india, and they love Reebok, Nike, and Addidas. [mostly the sports brands]. They also love jeans, the girls especially. [jean skirts, pants with glitter, etc.]. Girls there also like the boots [knee length]. But not black boots [those are not considered appropriate in indian culture]. People there like bright or dark colored clothing. To them it symbolizes that the cloth was very expensive, etc. :-]

I'm indian, but i was born and raised in the US. I do however visit india every two years in the summer. [its damn hot!!!!!]
Reply:I think that you should get your cousin some sort of Kurta (i am paki) or jeans. and with you should buy some sort of mathcing jewelry. Good Luck at Shopping!!!!
Reply:umm.. ive been ther and if its a boy.. they luuv designer(itz kinda gay lol) AND RELI TIGHT JEANS....girls wear mostly wut we wear here a cute shirt and jeans..hope i helped!!

Teens only?

Okay. I am 1 years old I have a baby girl who is 14 months old. I ALSO might be pregnant now.

But does that mean I am a hoe???

I work hard with school, work, and being a full time mommy.

So the real question here is....Why do teens get critisized about sex?

As long as you have protection, then it is perfectly fine.

However, I used pritection my very first ime and now I have a kid.

B al means peope should wait bt I thought I was in love and now I have another boyfriend of about 2 years, we are sort of engaged and living together and he loves me for who I am am, not wha I've got!

So why do older people reect us?

I mean, aren't they the ones who wen out and had sex before 16 too. So if they can, can we not?

Te me al you teens out there, what you thin?

Do I have a point? Am I considered a slut the way I try o raise my baby? SHOULD I BE JUDGED BY OTHERS ON THE INTERNET???

Teens only?
I actually agreee with you! Adults and older pepople tend to stereotype teenagers nowadays. It's actually pretty sad. Not all teens are the same. Parents, adults, and elders think that teens are just wild and crazy and don't care about anything but themselves but thats not true because there are many things that teens deal with everyday. They have to worry about school, try to figure out how their day will go, with so many other teens in school criticizing each other. Teens nowadays feel that they get to judge others and it shouldn't be like that we should try and help each other. Adults and other elders shouldn't judge teens because we have it hard you don't realize how difficult it is. And as for people criticizing u don't worry about it because honey you can't please the world the people in the world will never agree with anything that u do. So just take care of your kids and take care of yourself. No one should judge anyone else because everyone in this world has flaws. Adults don't realize how much they stereotype teens because times are changing and teens today have more freedoms so adults are quick to judge us. Teens ROCK!
Reply:i am 18 im not married and i have a 4month old. people judge me but i dont worry about people now cause i got a baby 2 worry about so dont listen to any one but your childs sweet coo's. Report It

Reply:i also agree with you sex isnt a bad thing aslong as you love the person you have it with and know you shouldnt be judged by ppl at all pac said it best when he said in his song "only god can judge me so all you other mother ******* stay out of my business Report It

Reply:are you 1 or 11 or 12 or 13....??? well i think you shouldnt hav had sex that early..keep your virginity until after marriage and do it w/ someone u love, thats my motto!! its ok that you had sex early..i mean...i except u for who u r!! ok? ok. and ur not a hoe.
Reply:no you should not be criticized because no one on this earth has the right to criticize another human being because everyone makes mistakes and no one in this world is perfect. its your life, you decided to do what you did, so no one should try and judge you for what you did. People fail to learn people before they judge them and that's why they criticize. even though you made the mistake of getting pregnant, you can turn it into something positive by taking care of your child and by giving them a nice life. good luck.
Reply:I think that it is not okay people just dont care.....even if u have sex its only 98% effective
Reply:your age is still young, but you are not a hoe. a hoe is someone with no morals, and goes around having sex. People misuse the word and calls everyone a hoe. Sweetheart, you will always have people that will try to put you down. The only thing you can do is do what you have to do and ignore those haters.
Reply:if u has protected yourself then u wouldn't think your pregnant now
Reply:look i am 16 too and i dont think that anyone should have *** till they are married, but i do commend you for keeping your baby.
Reply:You need to wait to have sex till your married! I don't know how old you are so it's hard to answer your questions, cuzz i'm pretty sure your not 1.
Reply:are you sure that you are a year old?
Reply:I year old with a child,thats a first.
Reply:coz ppl are narrow minded, but bein preg early has its draaw back coz u gottta take on responsibility n hav maturity tat teens normally dun tend 2 have
Reply:I am a firm believer that people should not judge before thay have walked a mile in those peoples shoes. Although, I am ot trying to be rude, but if you dont wanted to be judged by people, dont air your business all over the internet. A lot of people feel very strongly about abortion, teen pregnancy, etc. So when you ask a question, or answer one, you must be prepared for the judgemental answers. Not everyone judges when they answer, some just try to share what they know and give advice. Thats what I try to do, anyways.
Reply:people are [f]ing stupid and like to talk alot of [s]hit but when some of them do the same stuff they are criticizing you for. i mean i know i had sex before 16 and yes i almost got pregnant but i mean that's my life i know what i am and i know what I'm not. [***** people on the Internet they don't even really know you. they're just people too bored with their own lives that they try to ruin yours. stay up and if you need a friend I'm here.
Reply:It's not that older people reject you, it's a matter of how you carry yourself. To be honest, some people are not smart enough to take care of themselves, so what makes you smart enough to care for another human being? Sex is only okay if it is mutual and you are married. Yes, alot of peole have sex before they're married, but alot of them also regret everysingle encounter they've had. And you are either engaged or not, there's no sort of in engagement at all. If you're smart enough to care for yourself then you can have a child....if not then good luck to you...I'm only being real.

Teens - Please help me by taking this survey: This is for a computer project?

It would be nice for some of you to take this survey. It's for my computer project, and it greatly affects my computer grade. This survey is mainly for teens (sorry). It would be great if males took this only because we have too many female responses (But girls you can still take them- I'll still accept your responses). It's about the effects of teens using the computer.

Note: I did not make up the questions, my partners did (so please do not make any cruel comments about the survey)

my biggest fear: not being able to figure out who i actually am. with all of the trends and conformity and cliques, im terrified that i will never be able to have enough confidence and self esteem to be able to break away from all of that and be who i want to be
Reply:Losing someone i love or seeing them hurt (''.) and knowing that i cant make them smile
Reply:i have a few fears 1. not going to college 2. getting bad grades 3. losing my family 4. global warming 5. too many to name
Reply:not having any frendz!

I'm writing a political cartoon for school and so far i have Bush with baggy pants and headphones in but i need help thinking of something to go along with it... it HAS to be on the first amendment. I was thinking that i could have him leaning up on a group of teens and they are asking him about the first amendment and he's not listing. like he dosen't want them to know about it. I NEED IDEAS PLEASE!!!!!!!

O it has to be about how teens dont know about the first amendment

Teens and the First amendment.?
like i said before

have a bunch of kids with a math test on the board. kids can be praying
Reply:You have a good idea and it should be pursued. You can also have cartoons about teens being arrested and not knowing that they have freedom of speech or press,
Reply:well that sounds fun. lol. how long does it have to be?

i like your idea.

i also like the guy above me's answer. =] good luck
Reply:lol, i was seriously just going to ask what the first amendment was. then I finished reading.

1 idea- have someone ask a teen what their views on the 1st amendment is. then have the cliche teen saying something like- is that the one about guns? (I'm pretty sure it's not, but it would be totally embarassing if it was)
Reply:like this i liked u but u newer liked me back that cold be an idea sor a tean catoon

Teens obsessed with celebrities?

There was an article in Portland Or/Vancouver WA's Columbian newspaper over the summer about teens obsessed with celebrities, espically Disney channel stars. It talked about how some teens become delusional and believe that they know these stars and try to convince others that they have the personal contact info, etc. Anybody know where I can find the article or ones similar?

Reply:FYI im a teen and i started watching disney channel a few months ago. i thought it was corny at first, but then i started to like it and found that it was appropriate for my age. then i found that it was cool if u had contact with the disney stars, but i wasnt interested in that until i got all the real email addresses of miley cyrus, emily osment, brenda song, ashley tisdale, vanessa anne hudgens, and more by accident. i think its real cool.

oh, and those people on here who are believed to have contact info of celebs, im one of them of course, but i will not give them out. sorry.

PS2 for Teens with Crash of the Titans & Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix?

This special offer, is made up by me, posted it on Paint program on my computer, it's called Cearmic White PS2 with 2 games! It says in my imagination, it is open to persons 13 and over. PLEASE EXCUSE ME!!! It basically says PS2 for teens and next-gens for ADULTS. In this offer, WE KIDS CAN HAVE ANY TWO GAMES WE WANT AS LONG AS IT IS T FOR "TEEN" or Everyone or E10. I really wish that it could happen in reality and dreams come true for ME! If this was legal, they game away PS2 for teens and Wiis %26amp; PS3s for ADULT GAMERS, I know one AO rated Wii game by the way! If this offer did exist in reality, with no chaos no fighting over who should get what, don't you think that's fair?! At least adults, get the NEWER systems!

PS2 for Teens with Crash of the Titans %26amp; Harry Potter %26amp; the Order of the Phoenix?
Nobody gives something for free nowadays without them getting something in return. There's always strings attached to free offers. So when somebody comes to you and tells you, "You get a free PS2!." You should ask him this, "Okey, mister, what's the catch?" And he answers, "I want your soul, boy."

MMA for teens?

Can teens compete in mma competions kind of like UFC and Pride but just for teens. are there any organization that promote teen mma events

MMA for teens?
Not that I have heard of, but not internationally anyways.

In order to do that, your local area of living must support and promote it, which in most places dont. But for sure MMA is also influenced by Martial Arts which is taught all over the world.

So you can start off in a dojo, and check to compete in competitions.

Try www.mma.com and www.usgrappling.com

Thanks.

Thanks for your time.
Reply:no. do bjj torneys you will bee happy with this gi and no gi compatition in sure you will get your fill its the same rush.
Reply:KOTC just signed a 15 yr old. Stupid on their part though. If that kid gets a serious injury from a 20 something yr old fighter the anti-mma people will have a field day.
Reply:I guess tournaments are supposed to be like MMA. But i think the reason they don't have MMA for teens is because, no one wants to risk having a hurt teen during a match in the league. It's probably bad for publicity.
Reply:I haven't heard of any so far, but I know a lot of teens who go to tournaments and smokers. Just the other day, my friend fought a 13 year old boy who was trained very well. If you like, I can tell you when they are and you can practice until you get 18+.
Reply:In some states it's legal for teens to fight in amateur MMA fights.
Reply:go to a shcool that trains MMA the will probaly know of tournmnts for kids and teens it wont be like ufc huge crowds millions dollar contracts and shows on PPV TV but ya they have tournments all over the countries thew rules may be a little different requring pads and so fourth some requrie head gear and so fourth but its a great place to start
Reply:Not that I know of. I mean you can comptere in BJJ matches. Go to http://www.usgrappling.us, their having a Juniors competition.
Reply:No, you have to be atleast 18 years old, otherwise you are more likely to have to hunt down small events that is sponsered by local people. In which case your parents will have to be there to sign you in. Your best bet is to compete in specific arts, like just boxing or brazilian jiu jitsu or wrestling and so on. They do have competitions for teens and kids in those, and you will gain a lot of experience until you can actually compete in MMA.

How can teens make money?

Hi, I am thirteen years old and I am just wondering how can teens make money?

Whenever I try to find anything on the internet I only find things that you have to be eighteen or older for. I have tried one website, but it doesnt give a lot of payout without signing up for a loan or something. I have tried other things outside of home like putting babysitting flyers out, but I havent been getting any business. I decided to give up on babysitting, but can anyone help me by suggesting ideas or ways I can work at home and make money or anyother places that would hire teens around my age to help out with some things? If anyone can mainly suggest some websites though for online teen things though, that would be great. Thanks. Bye.

How can teens make money?
I would stay away from the internet - that's not how to make money if you are a teen. A few ideas:

1) Babysitting for people your parents know.

2) Caddy at the local country club (many states have loose child labor laws for caddies - Michigan allows it at age 11)

3) Provide services, like lawnmowing, raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc....

The only caveat is that if you provide services for money, only do so for people your parents know and trust, and your parents should always know who you are providing services for and where. That's for safety/security.

--%26gt;Adam
Reply:babysit neighbors and friends.
Reply:agloco, sign up here www.agloco.com/r/BBGL2217 they pay you to surf the internet. if you have ever heard of surf junky.com which is a SCAM. this isnt. you download a toolbar which tracks your hours online and it pays you. but they way you really make money is by referring people because a percentage of money they get u get. so the more referrals. you be getting a good paycheck every month for doing you regular internet habbits.
Reply:Go get a summer job

buzz me ..i can help you
Reply:When I was 12 or so (I still do it today at 15 sometimes) I used to pet sit dogs and cats, in my home and also out of my home. I would charge $7 a day (I never had anyone have a problem with the price) and it can bring in really good money. But beware of large, hyper dogs because I had one and it was very hard to take care of. I put an ad in the newspaper, but you could also advertise online on many local or non local websites. Another job could be to go around and ask some elderly (or non elderly) neighbors if they'd like their house cleaned for some extra money, or some little jobs around the house. You could also sell unwanted or unused things or set up a garage sale.

Reply:ever try house cleaning? or even female lawn service! that's a niche. manual labor is going by the wayside and nobody wants to put in the work, just type. try building up some callouses on some real work.how about, lawn maintenance, weeking gardens, or scooping the poop out of the yard? it sounds gross but if you get a long handle scooper, you never touch the stuff, just put it in a baggie and in their trash. i'm sure your parents wouldn't mind you practicing at home. lol. but you should be sure that a "TRUSTWORTHY" adult is with you if you go into someone elses' home. not just for you, but to protect the resident as well.
Reply:Cleaning houses. Mowing Lawns. I know a 14 year who makes money by repairing computers. He has been doing it since he was 12. He makes enough to do what he wants. Being unique can get you along ways.

http://www.tbirdsonline.com is my website. I have a full time job too. I make about 15 thousand a year and growing.

Reply:Hi, I am the mother of a thirteen year old. Like you she likes or needs to earn some extra money for some things that wants but is unable to actually work. These days babysitting can be hard to come by as everyone is ultra concious now of making sure baby is in good hands. Here's what we do:

I "hire" my thirteen yr old to do jobs that she may not otherwise do around the house.

Washing Car inside and out (saving me the trip and time to the car wash) = $10

Weeding my flower bed when I am unable (health issues) = $5.00

Scrubbing my shower (again health issues) = $3.00

Organizing my pantry cupboard = $3.00

You get the idea. Make yourself up a little flyer to hand out to family and friends. Let them know you are needing/wanting to earn some extra money and what you are willing to do to get the money. My 13yr old does not get an allowance, but then dad and I usually pay if she wants to go to the occaisional movie or skating. But CD's and trips to the mall are on her. She goes and mows lawn for her grandpa which usually gets her $10 for a ten minute job. It helps out grandpa and gets her a little extra cash.

Think about it, what could you help with? "Mom I would like to "EARN" some extra money. Is there any odd jobs that I can do around here for you?"

BY ALL MEANS BE SMART AND SAFE. That's one of the reasons we only do this with friends and family, and neighbors we know well.

Good Luck!

Another idea: Set up a net work with neighbors, friends and family to save their recycled items like cans and newspaper, for you. Have them put them in a bag for you once or twice a week and let them know when you'll be coming around for pick up. You gather them and then you can cash them in for the $$

Teens: Do you dig philosophy?

Outside of the classroom, I mean. Taking a philosophy course doesn't make you the next Hegel, and neither does memorising the Philosophers' Drinking Song.

But are there any teens out there with a real interest in any branch of philosophy, from existentialism to epistemology to postmodernism? Because it seems like I am the only one.

If you are a teen interested in philosophy, would you please tell me what sort of philosophy you're interested in, and any other sort of thing you'd like to say? Thanks.

Teens: Do you dig philosophy?
I think about one question.

Why?

Why are we here?

Why are you asking this question?

Why am I answering this with a bunch of questions?
Reply:I don't see how some of us have time for extracarricular things, such as philosophy, sports, internship and others. I think if maybe I were exposed to philosophy a bit more I would develop an interest, but I can't really say.
Reply:i am not a teen but 22 but i love philosophy dearly. i read books on Kant, Descarteols as well as others.
Reply:well.

there are times when I think about existence, I've taken philosophy based classes and I loved them,

I haven't gotten into it heavily, but I would like too!
Reply:Im a biology major but I chose it for philosophical reasons. I loved my philosophy class but I cant say that philosohpy is my only interest. While it deals with the self, I want it to relate to everyday world (sociology) and so my interest should rather be called, interest in the Human Race.

Why do teens have sex at young ages?

i mean i am a teen and many of my friends are doing this every other day. why? i mean i think it is nasty so young. but why do people go on about it. i know they think they are all HOT SHOTS but still why do they have to go this far. even at high school parties this goes on. parties are supposed to fun and hanging out not drugs and sex. yes another thing is drugs. we do teens think they are cool from drugs. is it because they dont have no one to guide them, show them from right or wrong. I just dont get the point of drungs and Sex.... for TEENS!

Why do teens have sex at young ages?
they just want to be accepted by their peers and they think that is the way to do it
Reply:Their hormones are saying yes. And sex is fun. It's a natural part of life....and high school is just the right time for a lot of people to start doing it. If it's not the right time for you, that's okay too.

As far as the drugs go....a lot of kids in high school and college experiment with drugs....it's fun for a little while, and then they quit. I don't advocate there use....but for most kids I think it's a passing phase.

A few of them with develop problems. But that can be said for a percentage of any population.
Reply:Because they think they're know it alls, why else.
Reply:omg, honey i EXACLTY know what u mean!!!!!! :) i was just about to ask that, thanks. omg i hate kids like that, hate hate hate with a passion.

i mean, when you are in your teens to me teens is 13-19, right? and you are just kids! your body has not developed yet. it's sad when i go on sites like ym.com and see young girls asking "how do i give a b.j. or a blow or hand job to my bf? im like "hunnie ur jsut ******* 13!!!!!!!!!" that is for ******* adults. man, they still go to school, its like kids having kids! wtf, theyre so messed up. here are a few examples of such horricity ive read. (below)

.. like omg wtf this is stuff for ADULTS not little children! it's like a baby trying to cut meat! it is wrong and unjust. i ******* wanna smack some people when i see this s.h.it ........these kids need a serious smacking and a serious lesson before it's too late. they don't even know what they are doing. they're like " im 14 and my boyfriend wants me to have sex with him. he says if i dont he will leave me. what should i do??!!!!???????????" it ******* makes me sad..i mean this could be my kids in the future. :( and i dont want that. god these children are so messed up, they SERIOUSLY need PROFESSIONAL help ALL OF THEM..they are ****** in the head, i swear. and please dont quote these sites, i dont want the people bitching at me. it's ATROCIOUS. :(

final words. WTF?????????????? here are examples of atrocity ive heard: i didnt copy %26amp; paste cuZ i didnt want to invade their privacy. ok here we go. : btw this came right from the website and the things these girls said, and NONE of these people/accounts are me/mine.

how to give a hand job

how do you do it?

like over the pants??

and then under the pants? ( that was one. ) here is another:

hey guys,

i just got the pill and i just got my rag like 10 mins ago, so i was wondering when i can start takin the pill. i am on tri-cyclen-lo 28 and i wanted to wait for a sunday to start takin it because my friend told me that i won't hve my rag on a weekend then. but i was wonderin if i can do that or when i should start takin it. also what time do you think is best to take this pill, take in mind that i am hiding it from my dad but my mom knows about it.

thanks for you help its appreciated

I have a boyfriend who I like alot...we've been together a year and we are really close.

Before that we were friends for three years.

I went to my cabin on the weekend, and Saturday night my parents went camping on the Island we were on...but I didn't want to go (they are into the wilderness).

I let my neighbour and his two friends (all male) come to my cabin. We were all talking when my neighbour started kissing me...and both of his friends said we should all have fun. We all did E, and I took off my clothes and we all had sex...without protection. They took turns going back and forth on me, about like 5 times each for hours and hours. The only problem is they all have girlfriends and I'm not on any kind of contraceptive...and they cummed in me like 14 or 15 times.

When I got home Sunday my boyfriend came over and wanted to have sex with me, so I did...

but...

What do I do?

those are all the examples straight from teen sites. (no lie.) if you don't believe me go to the source below.

sad, isn't it? :(
Reply:Simple it's nature! Humans are sexual beings period and teens are human.
Reply:I don't know. It's a mixture of acceptance, peer pressure, and excuses. They use the excuse of "everyone does it" to make it "okay" and then do it because they want to be cool.

Honestly, sex and drugs are a big part of teenage life--they were even back in the 50s--it just wasn't talked about. It's a phase and that's what some people do to have fun.

Good for you for not caving in under peer pressure.

EDIT--As for blaming parents it isn't just that. Sure, some parents are to blame but many teenagers do what they want. I've known many people who have excellent parents who are involved and even stay-at-home parents. The teenagers are just very good liars. Haven't we all seen the parent who was "perfect" then their daughter or son gets drunk and arrested one night? It happens to most people. Teenage years are a shocker to ALL parents--even the involved parents.
Reply:It's hard to answer this question, some of teens they want to have sex, because they seen or watched a lot of pornography website and movies. Some of teens they went to take drugs, because they want to get high. For this reason, is hard to judge why they do so.

Personally think we should blame on parents.
Reply:My kid's friends that I know are having sex are all looking for love in all the wrong places. They aren't getting emotional needs met at home so they are looking for a substitute. I know that this is why I did it in high school. I didn't realize it at the time but I sure did after I grew up. If you feel unaccepted, unvalidated at home and no one is there for you, that makes them seek other means of satisfying their needs. Some turn to sex, some to gangs etc.. It is sad to see this happening. I see so many kids hurting and I want to make it better for them, but their parents need to step up and be parents, be there for them with unconditional love. Sex will still go on, but it may reduce the casual sex, the I'm cool sex. I am proud of you for your views and choices. Keep up the good work!
Reply:most likely it's just giving into peer pressure...a lot of teenagers just want to feel accepted and loved and they feel this is the only way they know how to get it..but congrats to you for sounding very mature and not willing to give into the pressure...just be you and stay secure with who you are!!!
Reply:THEY ARE DOING IT BECAUSE THEY THINK ITS FUN, AND MAKES THEM LOOK GOOD I GUESS. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, WE HARDLY HEARD OF THINGS LIKE THAT, IF THEY WERE DOING IT IT WAS QUITE. IT WASN'T BRAGGED ABOUT. BUT BE PROUD OF YOURSELF NOT DOING WHAT OTHERS DO. AND I WOULDN'T REALLY WORRY ABOUT THE OTHERS. LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT AS LONG AS THEY DON'T BRING YOU INTO IT. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:they just want to be accepted by their peers and they think that is the way to do it
Reply:everyone has there own personal opinion
Reply:they are ignorant ppl who don't know whats best for them
Reply:Their hormones are raging and they are naturally curious....but everyone isn't doing it either...lots of them are making up stories to fit in or look cool...stick to your guns when you know what is right for YOU...
Reply:I don't get the point of drugs and sex either sweetie but your not doing it and that's great. Stay in school and keep your head-up.

Sex will still be there when you get old enough to experience it, just wait until the time is right.

As for drugs it's a no,no never.....o.k

you're a good teen.
Reply:Because they feel the need to.
Reply:Yes you have it correct--its a way they think that they are cool--and whatever--lets all just kill off brain cells--and get stupid--and the sex?? a way to be all grown up--NOT----Just don't fall into this as it sounds you are so much smarter than that--Thank you
Reply:Because they think sex is cool, and their friends are doing it,so they think it's ok.They don't realize the conscience like std's pregancy,AIDS.
Reply:Teens are having sex at such young ages because they think its not the "norm" to still be a virgin when they graduate from high school. So some start off at such young ages, and will get younger. Thats why you see 10-12 year olds drinking.

You don't have to lose your virginity to be cool, but in my high school, finding a virgin was hard, it was like playing "where's waldo", and i'm still a virgin, and will be on my wedding night. (i'm 20)
Reply:Well i aint going to lie i started having sex when i was 16 but atleast i had enough sense to get on birth control and i married the guy i lost my virginity too. We have been together for almost 12 years. We only have one 5 year old son. No one pressured me into having sex. It was my own decision. My boyfriend (now husband) and i waited for a year into dating until we had sex. As for drugs i was around it but never done anything.

People would ask me to drink or smoke pot but did i? No i didn't. No one can make you do anything you don't want to do.

You cannot blame it all on peer pressure because someone cannot make you snort a pill or cocaine or take a hit off of pot. (I had friends that would talk this way)

No one can make you have sex unless you are raped.

I do think that teenagers should not be having sex (If i could go back i could have waited longer) because most don't even have enough sense to use birth control and condoms.

I am 27 years old and have never drank, been drunk or been put in jail for anything. I have never been to a bar. See people can't make you do things like that if you don't want too.

Good luck
Reply:I know what you mean. I am also a teen and many people at my school do this. They are all just growing up the wrong way too fast. I guess that when a teen has sex, and they just wanted to be popular and accepted by others. And if that is the case then I must be the nerdiest person ever. And I am okay with that. I have friends, a boyfriend of 2 years , and a family that loves me.
Reply:sex is clearly a part of life. some people are more curious than others and so start younger. as for drugs kids just want to fit in and have fun and think thatis how to do it
Reply:because they're stupid! that's it! they do what people tell them, and they act like idiots sometimes. reckless, careless teens...
Reply:I'm 19, i had sex at the age of 17 after talking with my then boyfriend, now fiancee for 2 weeks. I didnt do it for fun, or because of my peers. i did it because i love my fiancee, i loved him then and i still love him now.but i never slept with anyone else, only him. I never did drugs. i payed way to much attention in health class and dont feel i need drugs to have a good time. I had someone to show me right from wrong, my parents, and my faith. but like others said, its a part of life. but don't do it unless your comfortable and love the person and know he loves you. and your ready to deal with the concequences that could happen if something goes wrong, or something breaks, etc...
Reply:no it is not cool teens think everyone eles is doing it so will i i did and i had a baby at 16 not cool i am glad i have him he is now 17 we are best friends we can talk about anything and we talk about sex all the time and i tell him dont do it just because everyone is doing it i have 2 other boys 12 ,13 and i tell the that to be a kid or teen live ur life have fun there will be time for that later in live and i just hope for the best
Reply:because they think having sex is a game, and they have dis in mind dat its going on everywhere in the world, so they should do it. and they feel good when they do it.
Reply:I think it's because parents aren't doing a good enough job of instilling morals in their children. Parents these days are too busy and self-centered to develop proper relationships with their kids. Then, their kids, who are lonely and missing the affection of their parents, seek love and attention elsewhere. These kids are seeing a lot of sex in the media, so it is easy for them to think, "Hmm, I want to feel loved, important, that I matter... maybe sex will do it... look at (insert name of over-sexed movie star here) he/she is popular and he/she has sex. If I have sex, I'll be like that."

Ok, so that's probably not the *conscious* thought process of teenagers, but you get the idea.

Drugs? Same thing. It all stems from self-centred parents who care about their own lives more than that of their kids. Absent parents who spend more time at work than with their kids (kids get the message: work is more important than you, child.)

As a parent of three young boys, I have made them my priority!!

Teens and sex why?

When that is not true. Not all boys want sex, some teenage boys just want a honest relationship or friends. So what we are flirty im sick of these answers and questions saying we all want sex. I dont want sex we are not hormoned crazed people we are human beings!

Why do people think all teen boys want sex?

On top that Why do adults think all teens are in a hurry to have sex when its not true.

Teens and sex why?
I know what you mean. Adults are always saying not to stereotype people but they do it!

It's ridiculous. I know tons of guys who aren't sex crazed.

And to "PinkPanther" the teen pregnancy rate has actually gone DOWN, okay? Let's get that straight. Not all teens are hormonal and sex-crazed.
Reply:Well, everybody think that just because 98.5% of the boys really are in a hurry to have sex. This is a rule. But all rules have their exception...
Reply:Both sexes will wan tto make love when they get close to somone they develop feelings for... some start earlier then others or meet the right people or are just good at it whilst others are shy etc.

People mature at different trates.

becoming sexaul at some point in mid to late teens is the norm and why its very important for parents and teachers to fully prepare kids to teenager sexaul life and the parentstake responsibility as much as possible for contrception and emergency contrception.

Sex and lonve making and dating is not bad unless you maniplute others feelings and treat them badly or bully them or put them at unecessary risk.

teenages have lots of hormones so its natural to want girls be it a girlfriend, to sleep around, porn etc... likewise girls want to be pretty have guys fancy and want to impress them and to kiss and be with a guy.

Its nature some start early some start later.

those who start too early or too late tend to have problems
Reply:most teen's like to experiment and try things. Plus the teen preg. rates are going up. People shouldn't put all teen's in the same boat, they are all different. at this age your hormones are more likly running you and not you keeping self control. Your hormones are at a high peek in your teen years, and most adults just assume and worry about you having sex,,UNPROTECTED SEX..... so just be carefull and maintain self control, and you will be fine..
Reply:Most adult just refer to stereotypes and that's not right nor is it fair. Most of my friends waited to have sex until they were in really serious relationships and most are still together. Good Luck in all you do.
Reply:Teenagers with sex...i dont know...im a teenager myself and no matter what, i tell myself im waiting until marriage until i have sex. Yes, people at school make fun of me for it and so forth, but seriously sex is something for people who LOVE eachother and will honestly commit to eachother and spend the rest of their lives together. If anyone would ever pressure me into having sex with them if i didnt want to, is just messed up. Its wrong.
Reply:It is irritating, isn't it?

They act as though all teenagers are hormone-crazed with no self-control and as soon as two of them meet each other, they'll be having sex automatically no matter what. Or orgies.

I'm sure there are teens like that but for most people it seems far from the truth, many teens are shy and even if they want sex they would be too scared to do anything!

I don't know about the teen boy thing, but I'll take your word for it. It's probably a minority that aren't sex-crazed though. Then again just because they're sex-crazed doesn't mean they're getting any.
Reply:$$ well were i am from they do it at 14 $$
Reply:heh, i have mix emotions about it, but i prefer or actually WANT to do it when im prepared to take care of a baby. rather than be a father at such a young age, i would prefer to wait, not when im married, but when i find true love, though my sex drive is really driving me nuts cuz of alot of hormones. adults might say that cuz of the everlasting issue of teen sex, dont you think? even back from 300 years ago i would bet teens do that, maybe even from ancient times people do it. we all have our reasons, from a promise to yourself, to peer pressure or what not.
Reply:hormones.
Reply:I am with you 100%. I am a teen guy that is waiting until marriage to have it. it is WRONG to do it outside of marriage.
Reply:I know what you mean.

I'm one of the many teens who have abstinence rings.
Reply:annoying right? my parents trust me and im still a virgin but i have to agree they thinks that we're all after sex. even being a girl there the same way... its sex this, sex that. friends asking you how far you've gone. and actually you'd be surprised at how many teens lose their virginity by age 15. theres a horrid amount. but not all teenagers want sex. they just stereotype. as long as you know you're not a nympho you're okay. dont let people get to you.
Reply:I think it is human nature to be interested in sex, and having a healthy sex drive is a good thing. I think you may be saying it is not only sex guys want, and that many people value relationships for much more then having someone to sleep with. It is part of being mature to learn to value a real relationship based on respect, not just if you think someone is attractive sexually. It is also maturity that lets you put aside physical needs and wait until you are ready to sleep together. Guys are more then their hormones, you are right there, but I don't know any teenager boy who has no sex drive at all. If we tell men that they are only after one thing, they will think it is ok to act like that. If we tell them that they don't need to act on impulse alone and are able to be in real equal and healthy relationship they will think so too.
Reply:adults are just stereotyping. the adults should start acting like adults, not bratty 5 yr olds.

Teens and young 20's like to stay out late...past midnight. What do parents say to them?

Is there an effective approach to enforce a family curfew?

What are the concerns expressed?

What do the teens object to?

Why do the parents insist on a curfew?

Please state if you are a parent or a teen/20's.

Teens and young 20's like to stay out late...past midnight. What do parents say to them?
If they are coming home to your home, you could tell them they need to get their own place. As a parent we worry about them. I don't want to be staying up late worrying, and, I know I would. My daughter is grown but I believe you have a right to do this. Just let them know that if they don't abide by your rules, they can set up house some where else.
Reply:im a teenager. my parents always come up with some excuse...if you dont want them out late, just tell them no and explain your reasoning. i personally hate when my parents say "because i said so". just tell them why they cant. if the kid is 18 or older, let them do what they want.
Reply:After the age of 18, parents have no right to enforce curfews. Their 'children' are adults.
Reply:20 If the kid is living in the parents house, its the parents rules. No matter what. Negotitation is open, but overall parents rule.

If the kid has a problem with it, then tell them they can live on there own and make there own rules.

Two 14 year old teens having sex.......Is it illegal or just immoral?

In 1987 when I was 14 I had sex with all of the girls which I dated. (6 to be exact)Back then no one mention or talked about sex was illegal with 2 teens.

Why do ppl on YA answers constantly tell teens it's illegal if teens of roughly the same age have sex? I thought sex for teens may not be practical but surely not illegal.

Two 14 year old teens having sex.......Is it illegal or just immoral?
The age at which sex is legal varies from state to state, and country to country. In some cases the age of consent is lower when partners are of a similar age. In some states the age for females is different than for males. Federal law forbids crossing state lines with the intent of having sex with a person who is under 16 and at least 4 years younger. So, the age is 12 years if you're within 4 years of the 12-15 year old's age, 16 under all other circumstances.
Reply:its both
Reply:It is illegal if one is under 13 years old or if there is more than 3 years difference in age with one or both being under the age of 18. It is statutory rape.

Teens in WWII?

How is life like, I should say, for teens during World War II...in the Netherlands?

I know that the Netherlands were occupied by the Germans...so were they recruited to the Nazi Party?

How about the aftermath of the war? What had become to those teens?...and IF they were recruited into the war?
