Pregnant teens?
I had an unplanned pregnancy right after I turned 18. I was very lucky to have a supporting family. Of course my parents were dissapointed/broken hearted/shocked/upset/etc that I was pregnant so young and in a volatile relationship - the whole good girl bad boy(really bad) thing. The best things my parents did for me was to provide love, support and help me pursue a 4 year college education. They wanted me to be able to be independant for both my sake and my son's. They helped support me through college and I am now able to support my family comfortably on my own and I couldn't be any prouder of the young man my son (a teenager now) is growing into.

To answer your questions:

1. No, I do not wish that I never got pregnant.

2. No, I never wished I could trade with someone who wasn't pregnant as I had no clue what I was in for. The maturity level just isn't there at that age as you have so little life experience.

3. Life changed dramatically after I had the baby. I grew up quick and became responsible. As far as school goes, I started college and my neighbor and dad would switch off watching my son for me during class. My parents also watched him 2-3 nights a week when I worked in the college computer labs as a paid student lab tech. I got to do my homework in the lab during slow times. College was hard but it can be done. As far as my parents, it took them a few months to adjust to the shock of their baby having a baby but then we were back on track.

4. No, the baby's dad is not around. He stopped coming around about two months after we broke up. Eventually he stopped calling to visit, he moved, changed his number, etc and I never looked for him. I hear things every so often about my ex so I know he is alive and doing the same old thing.
Reply:I was 18 when I got pregnant (which puts me ahead of most 16 year olds who got pregnant) and I just had my son two months ago. And I love him to death but I will not lie, it is SO hard. Sometimes my friends invite me to the movies, or out to party or bowling, and most of the time I can't go, and the when I do go, I feel like **** for dumping my bubby on my parents.

I was in college and officially dropped out due to issues with child care. It makes me sad that I have no idea when I will finish my college education, if ever.

I never wish I didn't get pregnant, cause I love my kid, I just wish life was a little easier sometimes.

My baby daddy is happily involved. I was lucky, he's a great guy.
Reply:I had my son when i was 17 and i love him to death. But no i dont regret getting pregnant i just wish i could of been more prepared. I wish i could of had a career and my own house and you know ? But no its been hard but my parents have been there to help out and let us stay here at their house yeah we pay them rent but i dont know. And now im pregnant with my second child and im due in 3 weeks and we still live at my parents house but hopefully by the end of this year im going to go back to school and study nursing so i can get a good job and give my kids a good future. And yeah the babys dad and i are married but he dont have any inspiration about wat he wants to do with his life about getting his ged so he can go to college. He's just like i dont know he dont have dreams or nothing like that. So thats why i have to get a career and a good job to take my family ahead.
Reply:I am 19 and 27 weeks pregnant. I would not change or trade any of it. I am currently in college but once I finish this year I plan to take a year off them return to university and eventually get my masters. I feel as if getting pregnant prolonged some of my goals, but it will not end my life. My boyfriend and I are still together. We have lived together for more then a year, and we have a two bedroom so it is all ready! We couldn't be happier!
Reply:I was 17 when I got pregnant. Had him when I was 18. I ended up dropping out of school, quiting my job and was bouncing back and forth from house to house. Plus I didnt have the father around becuase he had another girlfriend that he got pregnant(she was like a month behind me). Eventually I did get another job, and my mother took me in. I have a boyfriend has been there for me since the beginning, and he treats my son as his own. My mother and I get along better since I had my son. I am not saying that it is not hard, because trust me it is extremely hard, especially since I have no high school deploma or GED. But no matter how diffecult I would never trade my son, ever. I love him with all my heart and he is the reason why I breath.
