In 1987 when I was 14 I had sex with all of the girls which I dated. (6 to be exact)Back then no one mention or talked about sex was illegal with 2 teens.
Why do ppl on YA answers constantly tell teens it's illegal if teens of roughly the same age have sex? I thought sex for teens may not be practical but surely not illegal.

The age at which sex is legal varies from state to state, and country to country. In some cases the age of consent is lower when partners are of a similar age. In some states the age for females is different than for males. Federal law forbids crossing state lines with the intent of having sex with a person who is under 16 and at least 4 years younger. So, the age is 12 years if you're within 4 years of the 12-15 year old's age, 16 under all other circumstances.

Reply:It is illegal if one is under 13 years old or if there is more than 3 years difference in age with one or both being under the age of 18. It is statutory rape.
