How can teens make money?

Hi, I am thirteen years old and I am just wondering how can teens make money?

Whenever I try to find anything on the internet I only find things that you have to be eighteen or older for. I have tried one website, but it doesnt give a lot of payout without signing up for a loan or something. I have tried other things outside of home like putting babysitting flyers out, but I havent been getting any business. I decided to give up on babysitting, but can anyone help me by suggesting ideas or ways I can work at home and make money or anyother places that would hire teens around my age to help out with some things? If anyone can mainly suggest some websites though for online teen things though, that would be great. Thanks. Bye.

I would stay away from the internet - that's not how to make money if you are a teen. A few ideas:

1) Babysitting for people your parents know.

2) Caddy at the local country club (many states have loose child labor laws for caddies - Michigan allows it at age 11)

3) Provide services, like lawnmowing, raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc....

The only caveat is that if you provide services for money, only do so for people your parents know and trust, and your parents should always know who you are providing services for and where. That's for safety/security.

Reply:When I was 12 or so (I still do it today at 15 sometimes) I used to pet sit dogs and cats, in my home and also out of my home. I would charge $7 a day (I never had anyone have a problem with the price) and it can bring in really good money. But beware of large, hyper dogs because I had one and it was very hard to take care of. I put an ad in the newspaper, but you could also advertise online on many local or non local websites. Another job could be to go around and ask some elderly (or non elderly) neighbors if they'd like their house cleaned for some extra money, or some little jobs around the house. You could also sell unwanted or unused things or set up a garage sale.

Reply:ever try house cleaning? or even female lawn service! that's a niche. manual labor is going by the wayside and nobody wants to put in the work, just type. try building up some callouses on some real work.how about, lawn maintenance, weeking gardens, or scooping the poop out of the yard? it sounds gross but if you get a long handle scooper, you never touch the stuff, just put it in a baggie and in their trash. i'm sure your parents wouldn't mind you practicing at home. lol. but you should be sure that a "TRUSTWORTHY" adult is with you if you go into someone elses' home. not just for you, but to protect the resident as well.
Reply:Cleaning houses. Mowing Lawns. I know a 14 year who makes money by repairing computers. He has been doing it since he was 12. He makes enough to do what he wants. Being unique can get you along ways.

http://craigslist.org is a good site to advertise on.

http://www.tbirdsonline.com is my website. I have a full time job too. I make about 15 thousand a year and growing.

What has gotten me that far? Customer Service. No business will survive without it.

Good Luck in all your endeavors.

Reply:Hi, I am the mother of a thirteen year old. Like you she likes or needs to earn some extra money for some things that wants but is unable to actually work. These days babysitting can be hard to come by as everyone is ultra concious now of making sure baby is in good hands. Here's what we do:

I "hire" my thirteen yr old to do jobs that she may not otherwise do around the house.

Washing Car inside and out (saving me the trip and time to the car wash) = $10

Weeding my flower bed when I am unable (health issues) = $5.00

Scrubbing my shower (again health issues) = $3.00

Organizing my pantry cupboard = $3.00

You get the idea. Make yourself up a little flyer to hand out to family and friends. Let them know you are needing/wanting to earn some extra money and what you are willing to do to get the money. My 13yr old does not get an allowance, but then dad and I usually pay if she wants to go to the occaisional movie or skating. But CD's and trips to the mall are on her. She goes and mows lawn for her grandpa which usually gets her $10 for a ten minute job. It helps out grandpa and gets her a little extra cash.

Think about it, what could you help with? "Mom I would like to "EARN" some extra money. Is there any odd jobs that I can do around here for you?"

BY ALL MEANS BE SMART AND SAFE. That's one of the reasons we only do this with friends and family, and neighbors we know well.

Good Luck!

Another idea: Set up a net work with neighbors, friends and family to save their recycled items like cans and newspaper, for you. Have them put them in a bag for you once or twice a week and let them know when you'll be coming around for pick up. You gather them and then you can cash them in for the $$

internet
