Know anything about amish teens verses normal teens?

i'm writing a compare paper on amish teens and normal teens but i cant find anything on amish teens

Know anything about amish teens verses normal teens?
they are really the same as the amish as a whole the only thing i know about them at the teen stage is they get one year to go out into the world and act like everyone else and they decide if they should come back or stay in the world... if they come back anything they did out in the world is considered forgotten...

but katie just wondering.... why's this in this section?
Reply:Amish teens live a simple life. Their dress is plain and their lives are mostly work. I don't know where you live, but there are large Amish communities in PA, IN and OH and some smaller communities in several other states. There are books about it and I typed Amish Teens into this search engine and found 4 articles about Amish Teens. What I don't understand is why you said Amish vs. normal. Amish boys and girls are normal, they just belong to a very religious sect. Please don't discriminate against people who are different, not abnormal. Good luck
Reply:I agree with riss_92 (hope I remembered your screen name accuarately) about them going out into the world, but beyond that. They miss out on a lot of stuff, like t.v., going to the movies, the opportunity to get a real world perspective on things. Think about it, from what I know about the Amish, they are very sequestered and do not have electricity. Therefore, they do not have the internet, and cannot connect with people from around the world to see what they find important and what is popular in their culture. But this is only based on what I have seen in the movies, I am sure you can verify some of this w/your research. Also, riss_92, I post almost all of my questions in the LGBT section to get the opinions of people who are more like me.
Reply:Amish teens ARE normal. It's the other misguided kids that are abnormal.
