Teens/Adults with Endo?

Are there any teens on here with endometriosis? I'm desperate to find someone who knows what I'm going through. Are there any older people on here that were diagnosed as teens and struggled with school? I'm averaging 2 days a week at school because of my disease and it's making life really difficult. Has anyone had this problem? If so how did you deal with it? I would also like to know, for the older women, how do you deal with work and maintaining a job?

Teens/Adults with Endo?
I had the same issue as you when I was in high school. I was told by many doctors that all it was, was bad cramps. They gave me pain meds and sent me on my way. I missed close to 3 weeks a month because of the pain and other issues that would arise. I was finally told 6 years ago this July that I have Endo. I had just started my state job when I was told what waqs wrong. My boss was horrible (even though she is a woman) she didn't believe that any thing was wrong w/ me, and continued to not care. I ended up looking into a Federal Law called FMLA (Family Medicial Leave Act of 1993) this was the only thing that saved job. Since then I have taken a transfer to another state agency, and my new boss has been great about the whole thing. Don't feel alone there are thousands and thousands of women and teenagers who are going through the same thing as you and I.

A couple months ago I got onto Yahoo groups and found 2 online "support" groups. They are great. It's truly the first time in 6 years that I haven't felt alone w/ this illness. And yesterday I got on Myspace account and found even more women there that suffer from this illness.
Reply:i have endo as well and i feel your pain. i am 17 and got excepted at 15 to go to a private school in Brazil so i have no family to comfort me so e-mail me anytime if you want some support. my older sister has it too and she is 27 and is a lawyer. she does yoga and meditates a lot and it seems to help a lot.

i hope you get better soon and keep a positive attitude :)
