Should teens be allowed to use public libraries to look up male/female "playmates"? If no, what can be done?

Teens are blocking out senior citizens, tax paying adults, residents and other students from using the computers. Some teens are borrowing friends' cards to log on to library computers. I'm sure that parents are not aware of what is going on at libraries.

Should teens be allowed to use public libraries to look up male/female "playmates"? If no, what can be done?
As a librarian I do not have time to stand around and "watch" what kids are doing on the computers! We have parents sign permission slips for anyone under 16 and it states that we do not monitor nor do we block. And we will look up to make sure that the parent has signed this sheet. We also have a 20 minute time limit for everyone.

Try going to the library when kids are in school and you will most likely get on a computer with no problems
Reply:Most librarys have someone to monitor this kind of activity. Have you notified one of librarians? If you do this while they are doing their deed they may be kicked off and lose privileges.
Reply:teens always sound like the downfall of society, and we as a people should discipline the sh*t out of them, we need people to be looking down on them half the day, just to make sure
Reply:Yes, it is a problem. I think that librarians should try to monitor the children at the computers more carefully. Kids just use the computers to play video games, go into chat rooms, and look at pornography. It's disgusting what is going on in the name of free speech.
