what is up with teens in being in long distance relationship? doesn't seem like more teens are having long distance relationships or are trying it at least once.
Teens and relationships?
When I was a teenager (and this was a while ago, *lol*) I had a penpal who was my "boyfriend". I don't think it's anything new, I think email and the Internet has just made it easier.
Reply:I'm in a long distance relation ship now he lives about an hour away, but i find it good and bad at times. i love him and would love to spend every minute with him, but everyone needs some alone time once in a while.that and its def worth it especially when you love them.
Reply:Long distance sucks and will never work unless you have a very solid foundation
Reply:I didn't know many were
I'm in one but it works out really well. Our 2 year anniversary will be on the 25th of this month
Reply:i have no idea im 17 and have few friends who are doing it and im like whats the ppoint you like never get to see eachother, that doesnt sound to fun to me
Reply:My sister at the age of 14 dated a boy 2 1/2 hours away...my parents are so cool and drove her a lot to see him. However, he did have family that lived around us also. That relationship ended up ruining my sisters life for a good year and a half. He made her something she was not. I think that he was verbally abusive to her and that was devastating for my family to witness. My sister is a beautiful young woman. I think she is getting herself back on the right track.. but for any parents who have intuitions about letting their child date out of state or long distance..DON'T DO IT!!
Reply:Because long distance relationships for teens is NOT a good thing unless you are very very very serious. One reason for this is that teens are too young. it is hard for a teen to stay faithful when their love lives down the strret let alone being six hours away. Unless yall both are willing to make an equal commitment on both sides i don think it wiould work. Partly it is because teenagers have a weakness:
TEMPTATION!!!
Reply:i was in a long distance relationship for 2 1/2 years and now my gf lives with me and we are goin on 3 years dec. 27th. It worked great except that we were 1000 miles apart. She lived in South Dakota and I in Texas. Lots of fights but its hard when you cant see each other everyday or at least when we wanted to
Reply:I just think the availability of the internet helps to prove your point. It is so easy to talk to anyone in the world now in just a matter of seconds that long distance becomes a thing of the past. Of course it leads to physical touch problems and almost never works out, but I think the trend is growing due to the access teens have to these networking resources.
Reply:My partner and I are 3/4 hours away form each other
Reply:I'm glad they are having LDR's.....cuz then there is a less chance of that silly and TOTALLY preventable thing called teen pregnancy!!!!!!
Reply:I had one that was 5 hours away. It was tough but it was worth it
