Can teens make a difference?

Teens and kids are supposed to be the future of the world. Hackneyed old phrase, isn't it? But what if it's really true? Do you believe that teens can really make a difference to the world and make it better ... answer with your opinions (no cynicism please!)

Peace

Can teens make a difference?
I absolutely think that teens can make a difference. They bring a unique perspective to the table, which is realizing how the world is in many ways without being discouraged by the belief that that's the way things always will be. They bring an enormous amount of innovation and energy to any cause they lend their minds to. Teens have started businesses, helped parents to tweak their businesses, and done VERY much for various volunteer organizations.

To make a difference, I'd suggest to any teen to take something they're interested in and find an organization that works in that area. Volunteer your services as an intern to that organization so you can learn what goes on in that field on the front lines while helping the organization! :)
Reply:definitely. if you talk with your elders you'll find that there isn't much new under the sun and when they were teens folks were saying the same thing back then. i see teens everyday that take themselves and the contributions they can make very seriously. they're serious about social issues, they know about social issues, they do what they can to create a positive change, they're serious about their education, family life....there tons of things many teens are doing that are on a positive track. its only the handful that impact society negatively and put all teens in a negative light.
Reply:I am far from being a teen, but I will say to those who visit and bring their Youthful Wisdom here,

continue the good work you are the future of the world, and you can make a difference as to how this world of ours will urn out.

Even Jesus was teenager

love you guys keep up the good workk.
Reply:Young people are really important for creating change. They have energy, passion, creative ideas and new approaches. Young people need to be supported - given opportunities to express ideas, resources to implement them, mentors to give moral support and the community to embrace them.

If you are a young person, choose something you are passionate about and person / organisation who can support you to achieve it. If you are an adult, find a young person who has passion and see how you can support them. What a great partnership you will share! You will both learn from the experience.
Reply:yea we're the future. we should our part to make the world a better place since we'll be the leaders in a few yrs.
Reply:ofcourse, that's the way the world goes.
Reply:yes teens do have the ah....potential. But there's a fat chance considering how many Teens couldn't get their butts of their cuoches to study seriously so that they CAN make a difference- and mind you its not going to be a world changing differencen all in one go.
Reply:Absolutely!!!!!!
Reply:yes if you as a teen want to do it, specially it is go in to help you in the future. the future is in you're hands so work for it and do it right
Reply:ya 'course they can make it better only if they wish 2!!!!all of that lies in them
Reply:Hmmmm.... let's see................ I'd say NO!!!

Seriously.. I don't think Teens can make a difference in an Adult world... unless they act like adults and solve adult issues that are pressing in this world.

I remember being a Teen...and I knew it would be hard to make a difference in the world...so I waited until I wasn't a teen to start making a difference.. Have fun...don't worry about making a difference so early... (Unless you're a freaking Genius with the answer to Time Travel or Cure for all Cancers..I'd stick to whatever Teens do these days to have fun)...

That's my honest opinion
Reply:YEAH! They can bcuz everything parents do do it 4 their children. and if all the teens in the world unite and pressurize their parents to do any thing lyk say tell bush 2 take a hike then theyll do it. TEENS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I believe dat teens should kick out these dumb gud 4 nuthin politicians and take their place then the world can be a better place bcuz unlike them teens are not selfish and softhearted.
Reply:Yes but not by playing their music loud and making loud cars and listening to hip hop, emulating pimps and calling women bitches and hos. These things make a difference. A very negative difference.
Reply:Definitely! Teens CAN and DO make a difference. It all starts with a first step. Some say teenage years can be tough, so it helps to have a role model to look up to. Everyone who has reached adulthood has gone through teenage years. So they can be asked for guidance. A teen discovers what he or she is good at, what to improve. To make a difference, teens should make use of their talents and share to the world. Teens, believe in what you can do and follow your dreams. Wish you the best!
Reply:I'm not sure if we can make it better but I know we'll make a difference because we're the ones who will have to govern the country eventually.
Reply:Teens and kids are the future of the world just as they have been right the way through the history of mankind.

Every generation can be acclaimed as doing something good for the world.

We were all young once!
Reply:We grow up in this horribly polluted world and shouldn't that stir our thoughts? It has mine, and I am on a mission to become more green. Each and every one of us can make a difference and I'm trying to make mine. So, yes, I do believe that teens and kids can make a difference, depending on how much thay care, as every little helps (like Tesco say)!
Reply:i quess so... but to mostly a negative effect...
Reply:yes, I think kids can make a difference and make the world better

it depends of the school, their parents and treir friends :)

P.S mulyan_n, I can't find you e-mail to write you about Red Hot Chili Peppers, so write me if you want:

Reply:Yes, you most certainly can.
Reply:Why not? nothing is impossible.

move forward. We all be with you!
Reply:Hell Yeah
Reply:Yes, stop the current cycle of disrespect for authority and lack of responsibility by parents. Get out there and organize your friends to do good deeds. Most of all, help push kids to achieve. Beginning with my generation, kids have spiraled into a place where expectations are lower than ever and they still cant make them because parents suck, we are touch and feely, and kids are not held accountable for disrespecting people, and they have a completely unjustified sense of entitlement.

You have to fix the people before the people can do good. But, yes teens can be powerful if they organize
Reply:yeah we can make a difference, if it is a small one, what do u think all the teens on here right now are doing, they are helping other people and making a difference and if we all work together we can make big changes 2
Reply:Teens and kids aren't supposed to be the future of the world, they ARE the future of the world whether they want/like it or not. All we can hope for is that a good percentage of them step up to the plate and take it on. Teens can not only make a difference in the world, they will have to.
Reply:yes we can
Reply:Oh yes,we sure can.
Reply:yes
Reply:I think we can make a diff we are this country's future. What we grow up to be is what this country will be.
Reply:maybe...if all teens were recycling conscious their parents would be affected and the amount of trash an possibly pollution would decrease - think about that
Reply:Yeah
