Why do they date? Dating isn't worthwile until you can DRIVE.

From a teen to teens...WHY?

Why, teens, is all of this good?
Ok i bit TOO general





1. I'm not an idiot. the majority of teens seem like idiots because they havent matured or gained enopugh experiance to be viewed otherwise.


2. Swearing- for some teens is a rebellion. do what your parents dont want you to do. But for me, its my natural way of speaking. It takes me a lot of effort to talk politely (i CAN, like in front of my parnets, but its hard). Also, i have never found words that can express your feelings like swear words. saying F*ck is so much easier than trying to find other words.


3. I worked hard to gain muscle over the past 3 years, and i'm proud of it. why should i cover it up? i dont make indiscreet moves on girls or anything. MY main reason is that i was bullied 3 years ago when i was really fat, so my bared muscles are used as a warning to potential troublemakers.


4. If i dressed like i was 30, i would look 30, and you wouldnt know i was a teenager. to answer your question (IDK what it means) if its bad to dress like you're thirty, thell the people who are thirty to stop dressing like that. (im assuming you're talking really boring clothes, which i assure you no one wears).


5. the altenative is easier. I think for myself because i dont trust the alternative with my decisions


6. The cliche 'I dont want to be a Geek'. Im cool, i dont dress gay, im not a social outcast, and im smart. I see no reason to not develop my potential in subjects i like.


7. Peer pressure. theynthink about it, but the minds of the ten people around them soon wins over. But i admit, sometimes the risk makes life fun.


8. It makes you feel good, its 'cool', and your friends do it. the average underdeveloped mind cannot see poast these tree stages.


9. Friends tend to care for one another, and like to be independant. if they tell an adult, they lose their friend and their independance.


10. Social norm. i dont date, (im 14) i never have dated. i could date, but i cant see anything i could do with my GF at this age. its up to the induvidual really. Another good reason is that from the average age of 11, you get crushes. to fulfill them you HAVE to date. you cant just kiss them randomly.


11. like i said above, they care for their friends. parents can be a bit domineering sometimes. many teens have a little dreamworld where they have their own problems so they neglect the real world.


12. most of them do, including me. i dont understand what you mean by asking this.





youve based this argument by looking at the worst teens ever. most of us arent that bad. as a teen i hope you understand the kind of discrimination that goes on against us, simply because of a few jakasses. i dont blame us for hating most people.

Reply:I'm a teen 15 about to be 16 in August and I don't do or believe in may of the things you said. I care about many others. I swear but not because I think its cool but because I like it, but I don't use it excessively. I don't do anything because I think its cool, that would be pathetic. Not all teens are the same, since you are a teen why don't you ask yourself?

Why is intelligence a bad thing? - because it's a fashion whereas being 'geeky' isn't considered 'cool'. It also links to jealousy here..


Why don't they think about where their decisions are going to lead them to? - because they're young and unwise


Why is smoking, drugs, alchohol good? - It isn't. But to them it is.


Why can't a teen say if another teen is smoking, or drinking, or on drugs? - because they are cowards because they don't want to 'diss' on their 'friends'


Why do they date? Dating isn't worthwile until you can DRIVE. - I agree....but not sure about the DRIVE bit. Again it's a fashion and 'common enjoyment' that everyone dates.


Why don't they care about others? - because people are selfish, but they especially are because they're young


Why don't they care about themselves? - they don't know how to yet





I blame the media most of all.
Reply:1. Teens aren't idiots, they just have a different set of priorities. Celebs, forced down our throat, are made cool by the media. Kids just do what they're told is cool.

3. Same with showing skin. They see it on TV, in movies, in music, and it's obviously good and important, to them.

11. Not true. Kids do care about other. They care about other A LOT. But they don't show it the same way other groups do.


12. They do. They don't realize the long-term effects of what they're doing. Most will come out okay.

Reply:I too am a teen, but i do not consider myself an idiot nor do i swear,try to expose as much skin as possible, dress like I'm thirty, i do think for myself, i like the fact that I'm intelligent, i definitely think about my future, do not use drugs or alcohol nor do i smoke, i am single, i do care about others, and i certainly have some self worth.





For teens that are as you mentioned above, I blame parents for quite a few, where are they to draw the line and say you're not leaving the house looking like that. or perhaps emphasizing the importance of school and then doing something to help their child with it?





Then comes peer pressure, we just want to fit in, and if that means doing drugs and dressing inappropriately or dating, then that's what we'll do.





The peer pressure stems from the media and celebrities who seem to be saying with every action they make that drugs are good and its OK to drink and drive seriously you'll be fine. Or this is how you need to dress and if you can't stand behind a pole without being noticed than you're fat and need to lose a lot of weight.

i don't think its all about exposing skin this fasion thing and i have to say that, its the generation before them with 'cosmo' and other magazines that are planting ideas into their heads

they do think for themselves for the most part, this group i think a lot of teens need to be challenged


i suppose i was picked on in our generation for being a 'nerd' but i got over that and well as they say nerd 4 letter word 6 figure income


smoking has always been 'chic' with that age group but they say mobile phones are begining to replace that


everybody does dating, we all have emotions and feeling and love is a big part of that and well they have started to feel those things


they do care about others
